PAINTING
When I start to delve into a new subject, try a new technique or discover a new obsession, I know that I will be creating art in response to that exploration. The method I use to create my art tends to change with what I have recently learned and what I’m experimenting with, but layering and collage have been consistent techniques when painting. My goals are to connect with others and encourage awareness of the beauty around us that is so often overlooked in the busyness of everyday life. I find myself constantly inspired by things around me – for example, the birds in my backyard, the intense color of a sunflower and a drawing in a vintage book. It is these brief moments of pleasure and awareness that urge me to experiment and research.
I try to create a piece of art that can communicate and spark awareness. I never know how long my passion will last or where it will take me and as a result I need to consciously let go of control and expectation to allow my creativity to develop in an organic manner. I like to consider history, current information, what other individuals think and what society has to say on a subject until I feel satisfied and until I feel I have said what I wanted through my art.

Watercolour Paintings
I have been exploring the way water color will mix within a barrier made of resist. Flowers are my favorite subject for this art.
I was lucky enough to take a class at Red Deer College during the summer, 2017. It was called "Into The Soul of the Garden" with Sally Towers-Sybblis.
