Anita Nawrocki
Biography:
I studied at the University of Alberta and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology which included several introductory art classes. Art had always been a small, quiet hobby and I would often take classes ranging from pottery, glass blowing and acrylic painting over the years. When my son turned two, my husband and I discovered that our son had a chronic illness which dramatically changed our priorities. I left a successful family retail business to focus on our son. Thank goodness our son’s health stabilized and we welcomed our daughter to our family three years later. While doing an After Degree in Elementary Education, I rediscovered my joy of creating art. My daughter now joins me in creating; she inspires me, compliments me and is always an enthusiastic accomplice in all artistic endeavours. Rather than looking for large stretches of time to create art, I fit it in a few minutes at a time, often with my daughter. She is always quick to join me in watercolour painting and in my postage stamp projects.
